Seconded. With patience, common sense, and a decent set of tin snips really good results may be achieved.

Scottie came to mine yesterday and I have to say I was very impressed to see (and hear ) his car in the flesh with its dazzling aluminium interior.
I've done broadly similar, but pre-patinated as befits a 60 year old endurance racer.
