Seconded, bog-standard 2cv and Dyane 6 suspension and brakes are amazing and will gain additional benefit from the weight reduction.
Although the 602cc boxer twin is smooth and full of character (with minimal baffling in the exhaust), it could do with a boost in power, so I'd recommend offering an engine conversion kit as an option instead of the coil-overs. I'd start with Sparrow Engineering -
