Another quick update with an interesting find for anyone currently fitting their bonnet.

As I'd heard it was going to be a nice day today i was toying with the idea of bringing the Sammio into work. I chickened out. But i did take it for a run last night to rebuild my confidence and for the first time i took it on the motorway!!!

I only got up to 68 (that was more than fast enough on a 4:11.1 ratio diff and a rich running engine!), but it did show me that i need to address my previous joke about the active aerodynamics as above 60 the bonnet does raise due to the reduced air pressure caused by the airflow and it takes up slack in the bonnet straps.

I think that this highlights what Gary and Mike had mentioned to me previously, which is that leather bonnet straps are pretty, but not the best! This also isn't helped as at the moment I don't have any additional bracing/re-enforcing under the bonnet.

Luckily...... another thread has already provided me with a solution that i like the look of, and i shall be having a dig around for some of these:

or fabricating my own if i can't find any at a reasonable price.
