Spent a few hours on this project trying to get it ready to sell.
The engine is running much better but I'm still having trouble with one carb.
As I can now drive it I turned my attention to the gear stick.
When I built the car I just extended the gear stick rather than move the gear shift which meant very long gear selection and the long gear stick ended up under your left leg when in forth gear!! not ideal!!
I made a "custom tool" to undo the gear linkage nut and bolt.
Then (with the help of a cheap £150 plasma cutter) I cut through the gear selector casting .
Made up a new longer selector shaft.
And bolted it into place.
As the gear selector is now bolted to the chassis rail in the gearbox tunnel I will add a pair of rubber bobins to help with the vibrations but for now this modification should make driving it much more "natural"
