Cheers John, I will get something to you when I get a better picture.
This has got top be the easiest car ever to go through IVA. We use;
standard MX5 brakes to ensure brake balance pass,
standard MX5 ECU to ensure emissions pass,
standard MX5 steering to ensure self centre pass,
standard MX5 speedo drive to ensure correct calibration,
standard MX5 exhaust to ensure decibels pass,
standard MX5 steering wheel and switch gear to pass,
no external contactable edges at all to ensure pass,
all light mounts are moulded in the correct places to pass,
even the seat belts are retained from the MX5.
That said if you don't bolt the chassis to the MX5 subframes properly or leave a pipe or wire loose it will fail! Well I hope so anyway.
No need to panic on this IVA stuff, it is easy and adds value to your car once passed as it can be properly registered. They also make sure it does not cause danger to you or others by checking your work.
I have heard of kit builders going to all sorts of trouble and cost to avoid IVA, but why do that? You could base a sports car kit on a Suzuki Jimny if you wanted to avoid IVA but who wants a sports car with low power. MX5's are only £200 quid now, you know it makes sense.
