The car has been removed from Ebay so the seller must of had a sound offer.

On a positive note, it had reached £6,900 (possibly more?) in about 24hrs with nine days still to run. That's a pretty impressive start and it was clearly heading in the right direction, especially as the seller had originally put a 'buy it now' price of just £5,250 on it (click 'see original listing' next to the title).

Hopefully someone with deep pockets fell in love with it and made the seller an offer he couldn't refuse.

So, if you're thinking of selling your Sammio, Tribute, Speedster etc., don't forget that prices of genuine classic sports/racing cars have gone through the roof recently - for example, ten years ago you could pick up a decent Porsche 356 Speedster for around $30k to $40k, but they've rocketed since then with a current entry level of around $180k and at least one car going for nearly one and a half million dollars (bought by Doctor Evil?)

This means that even low-level millionaires can't afford a real one but would happily stump up twenty, thirty or even fifty thousand for an exciting weekend indulgence car that really turns heads. Like a Sammio Spyder.
