7" width is probably to the outside of the rims if they are like mine. That means 5.5" actual rim width for tyres.
Talking with a bloke who runs similar on his Healey and he recommends Avon 195s but says you can run 205s at a pinch.
The adapters bolt onto the existing hubs so act as a spacer anyway.
