I'm using an FSE fuel pressure regulator, set (I think) to 47 psi (static - no manifold tapping).

Fuel system goes:

Rover tank pump (8mm pipe) -> swirl pot -> walbro 255 -> filter -> t-piece (with 8mm tapping to fuel rail) -> fse regulator -> swirl pot (6mm from reg to swirl) -> tank.

Fse reg is approx 300mm from fuel rail, to ensure the displayed pressure is as close as possible to that seen at the injectors. Some people I believe have placed the regulator and gauge near the fuel tank, which seems daft - it's best to regulate as close to the point of use as possible.
