Well, I arrived at the hotel ready for Goodwood tomorrow about an hour ago.
One hundred and thirty miles on the M11/M25/M23, two hours and forty minutes non-stop, and my car didn't miss a beat
OK, so it's not
quite as comfortable at motorway speeds as a modern car, there's quite a bit of buffeting around your ears, even with a helmet on, but the car bowled along quite comfortably at an indicated 60 to 70mph without feeling out if its depth. It didn't use much fuel either, I'll check tomorrow but I wouldn't be surprised if it's close to 40mpg.
Oh, and it stayed dry too
Speaking of being dry, I have developed quite a thirst driving all that way in an open top car. Now, where's the bar...
