Whilst I don't wish to pay each year to get a car tested that might only do a few hundred miles, I can see the wisdom in having a test (maybe every 2 years). Time flies, and things can decay (sometimes faster) in a car that isn't used. The tyres, although having plenty of tread can degrade. That old flexi hose on the brake or fuel line can degrade - even more so with the latest fuels. From my point of view removing the test altogether is folly.
