Default Italian Supercar copies!!

Recently have been checking what Italian Replicar kits or complete cars are on sale and something dawned on me and that was many builders of completed cars try too hard to convince everyone that it is a real 355 or whatever by plastering "Ferrari" badges everywhere and anyone who is looking will know a real 355 from a MR2 rebodied replica so why put Ferrari 355 or "Pinninfarina" or what ever badges every possible place ( painting the engine red and slapping a Ferrari badge on an MR2 engine, even a Turbo will not convince anyone - will it?) - especially as Ferrari would never need to do so and maybe a more subtle approach would be more prudent and not go overboard trying to make people think it is the 'real deal' - or is it just my cynical side coming out? I like to looks of a Ferrari with Toyota reliability and running costs and especially if it was an Extreme kit as it really looks the part and too many badges would spoil the illusion me thinks
