I have based mine on a MK2 body and ended up cutting the corner supports off and reglasssing the corners back in at a smaller dimension so that it sat lower and also had to cut out the corner of the light support to miss the headlight buckets.
I then made a bracket to pick up the front brace in front of the radiator to bolt the front end to.
Have attached some photo's of what I have done and how low I got the front end although the last photo is upside down as I took it with my phone and can't seem to rotate it round.

Thanks for the tips and pics Nick. Really neat job. Got some prep work done on the front last night - headlights and indicators cut out, first of the 3 vents cut out and shaped. Now just waiting for a full day of good weather to get the front end off, all the trimming and shaping done, front wiring and then hopefully back on. Thanks again.
