This is an interesting area where the new IVA seems to be a little less onerous than the old SVA manual.
I fitted steel strengthening bars across the floor and bolted the bars to the chassis but I couldn't remember why?
So I went back to a copy of the old SVA manual which also said...
Seats are required to be secured firmly to the
chassis or other obvious load bearing parts of the
vehicle structure.

I think at the time, I was probably worried that the floors would not be considered part of 'the chassis or other load bearing part...'. The key word 'chassis' now seems to have been dropped from the IVA requirement and experience suggests that spreader plates are regarded as sufficient.

The other point to note is that I left fixing my floors until towards the end of my build and they do become much stiffer once pop riveted all around the edge.
