Hi Chris & Nick I'm enjoying every minute ,but life dont always go to plan when I switched on the compressor it blew all the fuses so I spent most of yesterday running around buying bigger micro switches & changing them,still I also bought the paint so it shouldnt be to long before I start painting, Ive never used 2k before its a bit more technicle than celle,by the looks of it. I think your front braceing is a goog idea Nick it seems like your the r&d department for Chris,maybe a feature on newer kits?

Hi all another week (5th) & the car is now in primmer last coat went on this morning,I also changed the bonnet hinges for mini hinges mounted on the scuttle which actually work well, should have done this from the start, tomorrow will be more rubbing down before the top coat can be started,

Week 6 I planed to have it finnish by now but paint is taking longer than I thought,its red now but still a lot more rubbing down & mopping,but once that s done everything else is ready to go back on, Ive put my flight back 4 weeks so should still have time to drive it,

Hi Nick I use to do quite a abit of spraying Years ago with cellulose much easier Ive had to many problems with the 2k,wrong conditions etc,I wanted to do it myself but Ive decided to have the top coat put on by a pro .which is going to put me over buget but it needs to look good to achieve the right money, I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow Chris

I was starting to come to that conclusion too, for the same reasons. Mindyou, spraying in a single garage is a challenge in itself, what ever the paint. Looks. Like you have done 95 % of the job anyway.

I have a question for the gas cap

I have found nothing about filler neck.
Does anyone have a picture of the filler neck.
Is it long or how is it done?

Hi Hieinrich I have used a mini flip cap £15 ebay & think most people buy another Mx5 filler neck & make 1 out of 2 its what I did as advised by Chris. my car is in the paint shop having its top coat done I should have back tomorrow,just have to wire the lights up & it will be driveable again getting quite excited,when are collecting yours ?
