I hope he (Chris) said nice things
He is a great bloke and can do wonders with an angle grinder

Definitely seems a good bloke. Hopefully I won't annoy him with too many questions over the next few months! If mine looks half as good as yours I will be a happy bunny.

Hi Jason
Sorry I looked for you when we were leaving but could not find you. It was great to meet you and I was impressed at the overall look and stance of your car. I still owe you for the entrance money.

Glad my suggestion worked..I thought it might and was the simplest solution.

I'm always willing to help with advice to Tribute builders, even if they did not buy their kits from us.

I'm not fussed about the entrance fee, it seems like a fair swap to me
Thanks again

SUPER CHARGER

right then, as my car is almost finished now I'm already thinking of the next thing. I have been giving this some thought, has anybody out there fitted or know of any issues with fitting a super charger to my Mazda 1.8 engine. The engine is in good nik, good compression and very good emissions .
I hear the bmw mini super charger works well.

YES! thats what I'm talking about......

I want to know about fitting one to my Z3 3.0i tribute kit also, maybe a Supercharger thread should be started? I saw Lumpy put one on his Z3 2.8i.

Having a quick scan around the web couldn't easily see many for Z3's but did see video on Youtube of chap fitting one to MX5 he bought it 2nd hand off ebay and looked pretty easy to fit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch1xdpkQADw

Plenty of stuff on forced induction on forums like mx5nutz or miataturbo.

The mini one is fine but it seems getting or making the bits and pieces is fairly hard work.

It does seem that most of the tuning lads are are using turbos, both cheaper and easier to install. More power too, if you want it.

Hi Jason
There was a very good article in Kitcar magazine about forced induction on an MX-5, April 2016. How to article written by my good friend Rob Hawkins.

I wrote the first article as they wanted an honest appraisal of the car. As I've built a couple of tribute kits it seemed a good idea.

It was well done but cost too much. The interior for example was nearly £4000. I've offered to help him to get the cost down on the next build.

I couldn't help myself, I had to go and have another little fiddle with the bonnet and now I've made it worse, I should have left it alone !!
I need something else now to keep me occupied and stop messing.
Mind you the motor bike is on the road tomorrow

Just a thought
Is it possible you swopped the hinges around (near side fitted on offside and vice versa) when you took it off for painting?
That would explain why you had the problem.

Good call Richard but I didn't remove them from the bonnet
Have discovered that if the passenger side hinge is not too tight the bonnet drops down a bit more when closed ?? Weird.
If it doesn't wobble when driven then it could be the answer ( not driven it since )

How did you change the colour of your handles. Did you buy them new that colour or did you have the chrome affect removed. Then keyed and sprayed.
