The original exhaust tips would be a problem on post August 1975 cars as the UK MOT tester would have difficulties getting his emissions probe past the vanes where the exhaust gases exit from the outer ring of the SNAP tips. This would result in an MOT failure.

Roy Kelly wanted £250 for the two tailpipes plus postage so I decided to make my own (with help). I am seriously thinking about buying a TIG welder though. I've just bought a 200amp MIG welder but TIG is so much neater.

With my design the MOT exhaust probe goes up unhindered so no problem there. Suns just poked its head out so Im going to photo the ends properly.

I think they should have been handed- both spiralling the same way doesn't look right to me!

They are not handed on the original. All four go the same way.

They do however spiral the other way (anticlockwise), I preferred them going clockwise. The reason I did mine clockwise was turbines do not spin anticlockwise backwards so it seemed logical to go clockwise. I really do not think it's important though. Each to their own.
