Default Sammio workshop & hq

The new SAMMIO web site https://www.sammiocars.com is now starting to generate some new business and I am now getting some very strange looking vehicle's through the workshop for repair or re-commissioning .

Here's the latest to arrive.

It's a OPUS HRT with Ford running gear and a Ford 1200cc pre-crossflow engine and box.
It's been in a garage un-used since 1984, but now the proud owner, a young looking 79 year old (who has owned it since 1983) wants it back on the road !!!!!
Although he has asked me to try and fit a step so he can get in and out easier!!!!

Wow!

Over 30 years sitting in a garage.

Makes my build look quick.

Good luck, Paul.

Default Bit of an ugly duckling!

I hope Aero Screens a revised boat tail rear end and cycle arches are part of the refurb!......could be made into something quite pretty.

Great video...

Google tells me its an Opus HRF...

http://www.statim.co.uk/OPUS%20HRF.htm

According to DVLA is was last taxed in 1986 so it lasted 19 years on the road, not bad, eh!

Goddamit.....Having read the Blurb I had not realized the Elan`s were handed over by Clark or Chapman!
Might explain the Colin Chapman Signature I had on my S4 Elan......wish I hadn`t swapped it now for the Peugeot 504 34 years ago!!!!

For the past few weeks this has been my "evening" transport.

All though it's only a 1300cc with twin SU's it's been real fun to drive and the stainless steel exhaust make it sound awesome.

I am just waiting for the DVLA paperwork and it will be for sale, so PM me if your interested.

This clip is not a professional as Paul L efforts but you'll get the general idea.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5Iw...ature=youtu.be

I plan on doing some more clips later when I get to grips with the Go-Pro and the drone.

Also been playing with a 3D printer.

Funny, the video link is working today, but it gave me an error message yesterday?

Anyway clip is short but sweet and the GoPro is great fun once you get the hang of it.

I'd love to play with a drone.

Good luck, Paul.

I'v had several PM's regarding the little car so I'll confirm some details.

It's built around a 1961 Triumph Herald (hence the number 61) so it's MOT, Tax and seat belt exempt. Al though it has a current MOT until July 2019.
Built using what looks like a brand new chassis.
All bushes, trunions, swivels ect have been replaced.
Brakes have been rebuilt including a full disc brake conversion.
New clutch.
Engine has been replaced with a 1300cc unit running twin SU carbs and what looks like a Triumph tune head!!
Stainless steel twin exhaust (sounds awesome).
Seats are fixed, I am just under 6ft and fit OK but anyone taller and some work will be needed to drive it.
This car is on the button and great fun to drive BUT it not the best so still needs some input from a loving owner. I believe this is reflected in the asking price.

I am looking at a "drive it home" price of £6,000.

If interested please PM me or contact me via the web page www.sammiocars.com

Mechanically, it's one of the best I'v seen but the body mods are not to everyone taste.

Personally, I'v done about 100 miles in it and loved every minute so sorry to see it go but I need the room.

Santa brought us a nice present.

It's a diesel powered steam pressure washer.

This is the before.

This is the after!!!

It will make life a lot easier for us around the workshop.
