Default Petrol Pipes

Hey guys,

Was just wondering if anyone can tell me which way round the petrol pipes are that come from the tank at the front of the car. When i took out the petrol pump / sender unit from my rover i stupidly didin't label which one was the petrol feed and which one was the return pipe. It doesn't seem to say anywhere in the haynes manual.

I was going to try putting a little petrol in the tank and running the pump into a container but i thought i'd just ask first! I'm at the stage where i'm ready to try and start the engine in place and so i don't want to get these the wrong way round.

Thanks very much!

Hi,
Its at the petrol tank end I need to know. My engine is a 1400 K-series
but its all identical to the standard 1600 K with the ordinary pump and
sender unit inside the Marlin tank. Two pipes come out both pointing
to the passenger side - question is "which is which" which one squirts
petrol out? and which gets the "vapour" return??
Many thanks,
Andy.

Default fuel lines

If you look closely the pipes are different diameter, the feed is larger bore. The return line is not vapour by the way, it's neat fuel!.

best regards

Brian

Thanks very much, Brian - that solves my problem, so hopefully I'll
get the engine running soon.
