Default SOLD: how about a hot rod project?

A very unusual chassis that I planned to use to build a T bucket. The front looks like an Austin 10 but at the rear the axle passes over the chassis rails suggesting a sports car or something else that’s low. The Austin 10 club suggests it could be an MG or Riley.

It has leaf springs all round, a steering box, column and wheel, an axle and a drop tube front axle. There a rear part prop that mates with the axle. A previous rodder installed Vauxhall van drum brakes all round and has plumbed them to a master cylinder, though work is still needed. The chassis needs repair as you can see in the photos. Unfortunately there is no V5.

I believe that the T bucket tub is a Jago which I think is a ’23 T. It was originally fitted to another chassis and the cut-outs for chassis rails and bulkhead have been professionally repaired ready for re-use. The tub was restored and sprayed two-pack gloss black. It was well prepared and looked good. Unfortunately, a ‘friend’ then decided without telling me to make a mould from it which spoiled and chipped the finish in a number of places. But it won’t take long to make it nice again. A red leather (pleather?) bench seat and seat rest is included which is fluted and in nice condition.

The wire wheels are 17” dia front and 18” rear and are fitted with tubes and classic looking cross plies, which look to be in good condition.

Sold due to the imminent delivery of a Tribute SWB. Based in Swansea.
