Default Rear diffuser

Does anyone know, have pictures that show, or have suggestions where the rear diffuser is meant to sit, relative to the rear clam?

The rear diffuser shapes, do not appear to sit comfortably against the rear clam.

From what I can tell from the pictures in the gallery (John's car in particular), the diffuser's vertical section is meant to sit in front the of the rear clam's lower edge, and the fins of the diffuser end approximately level with the rear edge of the clam.

Any hints / confirmation of my understanding, will be greatly appreciated!

Steve, do you mean the pictures in the gallery, or do you have pictures of the demo car?

I hoping to avoid calling Mark, as I'm always made to feel like he's doing me a huge favour!

Cheers,

John

Hi,
I have the diffuser fitted to my car but unfortunately the bodywork is at the spray shop at the moment so i cannot photo the alignment with the rear clam but can photo the diffuser fitted to the chassis if that's any help.

Photos of the diffuser to chassis would be useful.

I've had a go at fitting the diffuser, but haven't got it quite right yet - the type-r exhaust is quite deep, and thus I need to set the diffuser pretty low. The top of the fins, are going to be about 4-5 cm below the body, to clear the exhaust silencer!

Chaps

Those of you who have the rear diffuser, has there been any guidance over the SVA issue in so much as not being able to see the lights in their entirety.

Steve,

I'm not quite sure what you mean. The diffuser doesn't affect any of my lights - it mounts under the rear clam.

Have I missed something?

John.

Steve,

Ric H has lights mounted behind the numberplate blank, and his car passed at Shrewsbury.

Whether they'd fail elsewhere I'm unsure, but I have no lights in my numberplate blank, so no worries for me.

My inspector didn't bat an eyelid at the concealed lights. The "e" marks were still visible but in any case I think they probably just apply some judgement as to whether or not the lights achieve the intended purpose/visibilty angles etc.

I haven't fitted my diffuser yet - job for the weekend probably. I have added a wing and a radio since my SVA though so still keeping busy!

Rich,

What wing did you opt for? I know Craig has been searching high and low for one like that on the Javan, but to little avail.

John.
