Applying the same methods that was used to make the panels wider on mine . It could work on the z3. But with less front. They may even be able fit the sports arches to give it some extra girth.

I bet I know someone who can make it fit a Z3 in his spare time, just a shame Chris never seems to get spare time

Yep pretty much that. With the Alfa door handle surround ,mirrors and bumpers as close to the original shape . Crisp hard lines down the wings front to back. Full use of the mx5's boot and good access to the engine bay.

Sent Chris a pic of a modified lancia beta hfz Which is what I think the Alfa will look like . I've drawn over the top of it and softened the back end. Maybe Chris could post it. When the bonnet and grill are rearranged I'm hoping it will look a bit like it.

Can't wait to see what this will be morphed into next. I always liked the swage lines in the side of the Rover SD1. I wonder if you could incorporate these?

All the shape is their I just meant that by drawing over the top of the image you can see how the extra width will effect the grill. Allowing for the mx5's girth without making the wings six inches wider just the bonnet and grill width. The heart shape grill stays the Sam width. If you look at some modern alfa's,bmws and audi's they have what I call cheek bones down the side that make it more aggressive and sharp looking.

I was looking at the length and width of the bonnet and came up with the idea of a bonnet bulge. Similar to what can be found on a 2600 sprint. Looks Nice and importantly period. GT Italia speciale I was thinking for the name

I was looking for cars that look like mine and found an Alfa Romeo 2600 coupe specials. It seems to only come in green . But I would say mines a little more curvy.

1963 Pininfarina concept car, doesn't look as if it made it into production -

Everything's locked in and the above is the final shape. Just some mesh to supply for the grill. Keep getting tempted by the Montreal back end but it looks too much like a hatchback so going with the Alfa Italia look as above

With a little bit of tweaking front and rear and with that roofline it's leaning towards the Maserati 5000GT if you squint a bit ...

Yep. Its that kind of idea. No extra head room for 2+2 in this car, pure 2 seater me and the Mrs wizzing down the coast catching some rays and a view of the beach from the b and b. Id like to try some of the roads up north eg the ones that clarkson did on his f12 review. Winding roads

Polycarbonate or not to polycarbonate . Are poly carbonate door windows road legal. I had some made with a square edge instead of the rounded ones normally found on the mx5's door to see what they would look like just not sure if they are road legal I know some have the slidy windows but if that's just glass it can be smashed in case of an emergency. You could probably drill through poly but hard to crack. Any ideas on legal for road use being one piece. Mine are ones that work with the winder or electric mechanism
