Great to see you developing the theme and getting it just how you want. Real inspiration for the rest of us. Love the back end. I used to compete against a Cooper Bobtail at Gurston and always liked the look of it.

There is some really great work being done here.

I can't wait to see what the final car will look like when complete.

Good luck, Paul.

Not sure how to tell you this, but if you look really closely, there's some thug in a hoody eyeing up your pride and joy with suspicious looking intent. Now, where's my taser...

Yes my son & co builder Charlie, who had an energy spurt last week before going back to work this morning to sunny San Francisco!

Its all in the eyes, without the headlights it looks alive,
but once those black holes become shiny lenses the character just disappears.
So will it be 51/2" or 7" headlamps CT? No1 headlight do seem a little small, but are very pretty.

I just love the bob tail it give the rear end a real mean look.
Lots of great work with side exhaust moulding these G46's just let your imagination roam.

I just cant wait to see it in nemo orange!

I think it will have to be 7"" headlights after seeing the Gaz Davies car think I might stay with headlight covers as well.

We love the "bob tail" apparently the storey goes that John Cooper said the bob tails gave them greater straight line stability. But the truth seems to be they cut the back off the cars so they could 2 No cars on the same transporter???????????????

Yep, they fulfil your wildest dreams whilst retaining lancelotslink's DNA

Not so sure about the nemo orange! after seeing Gaz's "in the pink" it has to be a dark colour (or maybe not)

Default G46 width

I have cut the Scimitar rear body of No6 to allow the G46 rear end to drop to the correct height for the existing wheel arches and exhausts.
I am using photos from WCA's build.
What I am not sure about is the amount to 'pull in' the sides.
Would any of the G46 builders or Gaz/Gary be able to run a tape measure between the two vertical inside edge of the door openings
shown below?

Given the depth of the metal cill is 100mm wide and 80mm deep.
I have the lower edge of the metal plate sitting on the old scimitar cill, 70mm from the old scimitar floor
(or 150mm from the top of the chasis to the top of the metal plate)
Does this seem correct?

I am considering a metal frame bulk head bolted through the chasis at the back of the rear seats,
the same as No1 on LL build thread, but leaving out the 2nd bulk head,
at the back of the wheel arches.
I can then increase the size of the boot opening and hinge it on the new metal bulk head frame.
What are your plans for the internal structure CT?

Hopefully I will get some time on the body this weekend and will add some photos to my build thread.

Love the rear end by the way

HM

HM

had difficultly getting onto forum for a week or so.

In answer to your question pulling the sides in alla spyder with straps and WCA's early photos, we did not, the front and back of the rear wheel arches lowers cills just fell into place, we did put a bracket at the rear and front of the arches on the rear and pushed them in slightly but the come nowhere near the old SE5 inner arches we are going to have to make them out.

I have fitted some 6J 15" wire wheels today and if any thing the arches front and rear may have to come out to cover the wheels

Photos for my son and other forum users I have managed to take the photos upload them to the PC, transfer them to photo-bucket and add them to this thread, no mean task!

I had a lot of work blending the old bulk head to meet the fixed bonnet and now bonded in door

I am now happy with the flowing line down the side of the car

The car needs to be lowered yet but has change as it is now on the wheels we intend to use, they are 15" wire wheel and I think they are 6J rims note the outer flange with 15 x 195 x 80 profile tyres on them

The filling and sanding are far from finished, but the right line is there especially the cill line and I have cut a huge amount of material away from there.

Charlie you will see the exhaust duct is shorter than previous shots, I made it shorter at the front which give a much better wing line.

I also obtained some bucket seats from e-bay for £75 for the pair, nice chap had then in a wicked 105E this shot shows then roughtly in place but they will sit about 50mm lower once I have chopped the frames around a little.

I know it doesn't look like a lot of progress but it does represent a huge amount of thinking, standing back and looking, tea drinking and sleeping on it time.!

I thought I would add that the wheel arches will have a final profiling once we have lowered the car
