Looks like a great day out. Think we should get a thread started for events to go to through the summer.

1/ WCA Southampton Club BBQ in two weeks time

Wink Car shows

Hi, Yes I use http://www.classicshowsuk.co.uk/ for events.

However only look at attending ones that are within striking distance from me and on Sundays only (Best day for me), may be the same for others too. Can't help to make a list though for people to be aware of.....

1/ Ragley Hall - 28th May
2/ Classics at the Crick - 11th June
3/ Trentham gardens - 18th June (Possibly for me)
4/ Kimbolton Car show - 9th July
5/ Beaumanor hall - 30th July

Cheers.

One event worth going to next weekend is at Prescott Hill Climb.
Its on the 27 and 28th May.
This is the La Vie en Bleu plus La Vita Rossa.

Check out the web site but attractions include the actual Stirling Moss 250 SWB, the new Bugatti Chiron and a full Super Car paddock.

Lots of classics / clubs / hill climb action / stunning Cotswolds location.

The Bugatti museum on site is a must too.

The venue and organisers make this event much the same way as the Goodwood Festival but on a smaller scale and without the vast crowds.

Highly recommended

MUCH BETTER ...I'd carry the originals in the boot n case you get a tug and need to explain you forgot to remove the show plates after the show or photo session you just attended ...and offer to refit them straight away ..might just avoid a fixed penalty or producer ...

Good point!, front plate is in boot and the road legal rear plate is actually still under the new rear plate, you can just see the edge of the chrome trim on one of the more side on pictures, 2 screws on each hold them in place so an easy quick swap!!!

That is so much better, especially the rear plate. I wouldn't have thought it would change the look so much , but it does.

Looks great these finishing touch you keep adding just make a great car look better. I have my age related plates on valcro with the yellow and white one underneath they survived the trip down to Stoneleigh and are still stuck like the preverbial to the blanket. Running around in the car has shown up that the seats are a little low so next job is raising them slightly, just put on a new battery and started to re-carpet the boot.

I'm intending to bond a threaded post to the back of the black & silver numberplate, one simple hole in the centre of the numberplate mounting area, the post will poke through and through the yellow plate mounted on the inside, simply held in place with a wing nut. 30 second job to swap if needs be. Front not so easy, might resort to elastic bands to hold the yellow plate over the top of the black one.

+1 but it goes without saying.

Getting fed up with the drone of Ferrari's around here, can't beat the sound of a V8.
It's the PGA golf championship at Wentworth starting this week, I recon all the golfers are taking test drives to decide what to spend their winnings on.
The have been a procession of Ferrari's, lambo's Bentley's etc turning into the course, only car that I have seen so far that made me envious was a gorgeous BMW Z8...........pure understated class, these golfers and poofballers have no taste.

Hi, His colour is slightly lighter and he wanted a darker silver, cost option can you believe its was north of £10k for that! so rightly so he went with standard silver. Also the blus stripe was darker on his car than he would have liked. It was painted in the factory. It was a homage to the #14 1961 Le Man Class winning 250 GT SWB, which mine is too!
