got mylittle boy tonight and tomorrow. By Tuesday night back will be fitted and all being well Ill drive it that night to the pub... half mx5 half mx250!

Not fitted but a shot to remind me why I started. I think it looks awwwwesome. Sooooo pleased I lowered it and fitted big fat/tall rear tyres. I have bonded the boot extension and the parcel shelf though. Got more trimming to do on the original arches and some more prep work, then the exhaust tail pipes. On Tuesday the rear gets fitted along with lights and number plate and then Im road legal again. A few more days working on other jobs then Monday the front comes off stick the front on fit the lights etc and then by the time Im due back at work its on the road, obviously not painted but Im doing this as a challenge to myself to see if you really need a second car whilst building a kit..... Only time will tell......

Default roof lining

so I managed to get a couple of hours on and get the headlining done..

i made a bit of a mistake in roll of foam backed vinyl but sorted it and it looks cool and to be fair It was extra work on an area that wont even be seen

Tomorrow work on the arches, bond headlining in and fix roll bar properly..

Looks good John. Dont do it so quick you don't actually have time to savour the moment !

Looks like a dry week so good luck with it. Looking forward to 'Hammys Daily this week.

Never mind your blog, just post the pics here, and put a link on your blog to this forum.

Default lights

Whilst I have been planning for a few months that doesn't mean you can't potentially make mistakes. If I had bonded the body before I did the lights I'd have been screwed.

.

So these lights have two bolts so they can be externally mounted, my plan was to have the body mounted to the rear of the body shell and then the lense only on the surface. So I measured the screw holes then dropped 5mm and cut the hole... Because of the internals of the bowl you need to leave room for two things, one being room to change bulbs and more importantly room to let illumination through...

Sorted..... But now think if the body was bonded on already...

Luckily.... Actually very luckily I hadn't. So these rear bowls were fitted then pulled tight to the body by screwing the lenses on and bonding the bowls to the bodywork. I don't have a pic of that but a liberal amount was used. If you don't and you undo the lenses to change a bulb then guess what? The bowl falls off and you'd have a very very tricky job on your hands..
