You do not need a MOT. The guidance document for the V55/4 (I think that's the form) states you need a SVA certificate only.

Exactly what Stuart said. DVLA call centre at Swansea says MOT. Local one said to me, not needed. Hence mine has no MOT. Depends on who you speak to at the DVLA.

Default No MoT required

Fully support the ' technically no need for MoT' camp.

However, I also believe that for a professional eye to look over and nut check is money worth spending before your SVA, not required in your case..

For example, on my Hood I fitted castellated nuts to the steering knuckles but did not fit cotter pins. This would have been an SVA fail criteria. For me the donor car registration was invoked to be MoT'd with much debate with the VOSA help desk.

You should not need an MoT talk to the local DVLA office with your forms in your hand ready to apply. :boink

Default registration / mot

Hi guys, Thanks for the input. Have been to local DVLA in Swansea and they said "mot"???
I explained that both myself & mot tester could not get any sense from VOSA or DVLA regarding what date to input for "date of first use" when he commenced the mot. The curt reply was "just enter the date of registration of the donor vehicle". She then went on to say that DVLA would have to inspect the car after the forms were completed before they would register it.
She could not tell me how long I would have to wait. WHAT A JOKE!!! NOT FUNNY.
The car has just passed mot and i will be paying another visit to our friends (not) in DVLA tomorrow.
I will let you know the outcome.
Does anyone want to buy the car for ten bob???? I have had enough.

Cheers

Paul

They inspect the car, check engine number (again) etc and take photos of speedo.
