micky1mo - I like them wheels, will think about that for the future.

mikmiglia - what door locks and bonnet hinges have you used?

Any recommendations for locks and hinges

As a matter of interest and taking into mind that I am still shopping about for my project.
I know from reading this forum that over a hundred Sammios are out there in various guises , but how many Miglias are in circulation?
I assume not many Spitfire examples as these are new but the Miglia Speedster has been around for over a year now , so I assume there are quite a few about.
I have found a couple on here being built but only 2 cars regularly come up on my search engine , the red one in Germany and the green one ( broken up and dismantled - I believe )
Any one who reads this forum but not a poster on here got any pictures to share ?

mas123 - I believe Mike used Classic Mini external door handles on the earlier kits.

I bought a set for my Cordite, that I no longer need, if you are interested.

I also have a pair of very basic door latches.

NOTE:
I'm sure Mike is working on some changes to the door design, so it is still worth checking with him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

PJ Grabowski - As far as I know, Mike is the only one who has finished a Speedster kit.
But this is what he does for a living, so it is a full time job for him.
For everyone else, we try to build our kits in whatever "spare" time we have.
I think tlrtone has got the furthest of the "home builders" that post on here.

http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...ead.php?t=4127

Not many people have completed a kit in less than a year, although it is possible.
In fairness to Miglia, we are still waiting for the first Sammio Cordite/ Ribble Navigator or G-46 kits to be finished as well.
( Although Micky1mo's G-46 is very close to being finished. )

Sorry, got to go. I'm supposed to be doing something else!

Hope that helps, Paul.

There seem to a lot of people who are not posting, as Sammios (now Ribbles) have popped up on eBay and YouTube from time to time.

I purchased a Ribble Pilot, then decide to sell the shell and frame, due to work commits, then last week decided to order a Miglia, as I have opt'ed for the two humps to be installed prior to it been delivered as I am not patient enough to carry out the body work fettling. Styling is very similar but with the Miglia I like the idea of the driving position been set back a bit further.

Well solve a few potential problems last with a visit to "e@y", and help from Paul L.

1. Door Hinges and Locks

2. Overdrive / Gearbox and Propshaft.
Solution I have purchased another Triumph Vitesse

For other pictures see

The car also includes a spare 1998cc Engine included, head converted for running on Unleaded fuel. Various other spares included such as steering rack and carburettors. Plus the roller trolley that I can use for my Miglia Build, just have to store the car for a later date in Lock Up, which is now starting to get over filled.

My donor car 1968 Triumph Vitesse

Day .1.
Collected and ready to strip

http://s1251.photobucket.com/user/ma...20Strip%20Down

Day .2.
Stripping

A few weeks later the welding starts (left the extension arms as I was going to build the Sammio Pilot) thanks to my friend Steve

http://s1251.photobucket.com/user/ma...artly%20Welded

These will be fitted with in the next few weeks, then the chassis will be painted (off white / cream or even Land Rover Lime stone, as per my 1978 Series 3 Hard Top).

Colour looks very yellow, but it fades.

More pictures to follow.

Looking good , nice to see that your doing a nice job of restoring the chassis prior body fitment.

You should get good money for your bonnet if in good condition . I think Gary got 200 to 300 for his if i remember . Did you manage to source a gearbox ok ?

I give most the parts away to people that where restoring Triumph Vitesse and Heralds as I felt that guilty about destroying it, even though it was rotten.

With regards the gearbox I purchase another complete, but dismantled Triumph Vitesse, as this was the cheapest option, with needing the Overdrive, propshaft, switches etc. But I will look at restoring this in the future or it can be a base for another kit (possible). I have bought it unseen but the guy has owned the car for year then 5 years ago took it off the road for restoration, so I felt it was worth the gamble.

Just bought a few more items ready for when I get home.

1. Wiring Loom Ordered (20 - Way, so plenty of spare circuits)

2. Another Herald Chassis, 2 engine 1300cc + 2000cc plus three steering rack and a load of other spares. (so I will have a load of spares for sale when I get home as I only want a few bits from the job lot). Future projects.

3. Starter button

4. Plus another Land Rover (why do I go on eBay!!!!!!!!!!!)
