Looks like you will be spending more time on your bonet holder than on your actual bonet!

That will be finished today.
Plus the connectors to allow me to attach and detach the headlight wiring easily.
New headlights and indicators should be delivered Monday.
Then swap the bonnets over,
fit the grill.
sort out the bonnet hatch,
A bit of sanding
Splash of paint
And we are on the road
How long can that take? Hope to finish it before I am out of the cast, we'll maybe not the paint...

That's the aim. Frame made and bonnet hanging safely. Stop for lunch and the do the connectors for the headlights. Driving next weekend but ready for paint a bit later.
It is good to set yourself deadlines...
...they make a lovely whoosh noise as they pass.

Well the connectors fitting is on hold. Why did I buy three wire connectors to connect four wires?
I have looked at the list I wrote and it said 4 way connectors.
I have looked at my sketches and there are 4 wires.
I opened the packets and they are 3 way connectors and the place I bought them is closed all weekend.
I suppose I could remove the fan cover and move back the power steering cooler but there doesn't seem much point until I fit the bonnet so I can confirm the sizing and I can't do that until I get the connectors. Grr...

A few pictures from today
The amazing bonnet holder that lets me push the bonnet around the garage on my own.
Hung by the hinge on metal rod.
Stores neatly in the corner
Drilled the holes to fit the front of the bonnet and amazingly they all lined up properly
Except for one corner that dips in a bit. Hopefully if I push it up for a while and wave some heat it might decide to fit properly.

Lights arrived today. Now do I spend the time preparing the bonnet in the warmth of the garage or do I just whack the lights in, slam it on the car and rag it around half done?
Cast your votes / opinions here...

Progress has been slow because while I did order the headlights, bowls, chrome surrounds and indicators I failed to order any suitable cable or connectors.
I had a spare hour over lunch today and decided to fit the headlights anyway.
As I am on a pair of crutches at the moment working standing up is not really an option so I laid some old carpet on the floor and rested the bonnet on that
Before
After
Working sat on a garage floor is every bit as fun as it sounds. It takes be a couple of minutes to maneuver from sitting to standing so it is important to get all the tools together at the start...
...not forgetting the drill bit...
...no, not that one, the other drill bit...
...and the screws...
...and screw driver...
Also the garage vacuum is essential while drilling and grinding the glassfibre as all the dust just falls on the floor, where I am sat.
Anyway, hopefully the cable and connectors will arrive tomorrow and I might even get the indicators fitted tonight. Still targeting the weekend to be on the road!

The hole for the indicators was different to the bits I had but with a paddle bit and nibbler bit I made them fit
Kind of round
And now with indicators.
Hopefully the cable and connectors arrive tomorrow so i can get it wired up ready for fitting.

Before I could see the photos in Post #112, but not #107 or #110.
Now I can see #110, but still not #107.

Hopefully that is the full set.
For some reason the new photos didn't inherit the correct permissions from the collection they were in so I had to reload them.
