Default Hi all

Thought I had better say a quick hello having registered a few weeks back.

I've had a kit car for some time now but haven't really done a whole lot with it.
Myself and a friend decided it was a good idea and so I stuck a bid on an Eagle I saw on EB and next thing I know I was a kit car owner.
Its a Ford based one - and its also a convertible. Truth is I dont really know what to do with it... So it might well go back on ebay..

However, I haven't let this put me off. Thing is I always wanted an AC Cobra. But don't really have 15 thousand or so to spend on a kit. I also dont really have the time to build one from scratch or a garage in which to do it.
But then I saw the Kobra kit. The one that you put on a BMW Z3. Its not exactly like a Cobra this is true - but it looks good all the same. (At least I thought so)

I gather an IVA isnt required for one, and since for the most part its swopping body panels it sounded like a winner. Trouble is I wanted this for going back and forward to work.. A Z3 ain't going to be cheap to run.. The solution... found a Z3 with and LPG conversion

So i've had this around 6 weeks now and so far so good. A few niggles, but its 16 years old... this is to be expected. My plan is to use it over the winter, see how it goes then look to get one of these kits to make it look like a cobra.
Hopefully someone around these parts will be able to offer advice and such before I take the plunge and go for it... In any case a bit of forum banter is always good

Welcome.

You will find all the advice you could possibly need on the "Tribute" section of "Mad Build Area" of this forum.

There are some photos of finished Kobra here:

This also includes links to build threads that will show you the work involved.

Hope that helps, Paul.
