Default New Servo Update

Good news.

The new servos have arrived, and certainly look good finished in Powder Coat Paint black. They are almost identical to the unit we tested, so I will go ahead with the main order on Monday.

I have posted pictures of the servo below, as this is your last chance for any changes of mind - would anyone like a powder coated one in preference to the ordinary Zinc unit for just £10 extra. I'd say it is certainly worth it.

The adaptor plate is a trial of one laser cut - the quality is superb. The universal plate will only have one set of holes to fit the servo. You can then drill yours to suit whatever angle your master cylinder requires. I'll get a circle etched at 70mm which equals the Metro/Ford fixing centres to make it easy to establish your drilling points. (or of course you can ignore it if it does not suit)

Unless I hear from anyone over the weekend I will order as per the list on the Forum.

With a following wind it is still possible you could have them for Christmas!

Regards to all

Mike

Good news and thanks again for getting this organised!!

Interesting comment about being 'almost identical', so I assume the Dukesville unit didn't come from MBM after all? Any clues on the Dukesville unit as to its origin? Is it a 'far east' copy??

Hi Mike. If there is a chance I would certainly like to change to a powder coated servo provided it doesn't compromise the order quantities. Peter.

Hi Peter

I have had PMs asking the same from others, so I think we should be able to get what you want.

Given that Peter has put his head above the parapet first, would anyone else like to change their order to Powder coated?

I have to admit I would prefer the painted one to the chrome now that I've seen the quality and finish of the powder coating!

Regards
Mike

Thanks Mike that would be great. I was originally planning to paint mine black anyway. Can't think why now as it seems like hard work when that shiny thing comes straight out of the box! Peter.

Mike

Like you, I would be happy to go powder coat instead of chrome if all the other "chromers" have a change of heart and swap to powder.

John

I get the impression from MBM. now that they know we are serious, that as long as we stick to cases of 6 we could mix and match within a case.

So ...........would anyone else like to change? - last call !

If powder is an option without causing hassle or stopping others getting chrome, I will trust your judgement regards quality and go with the powder coat.

Default Choices

Hi mike, the powder coat looks superb, if possible I would take one, but as last man always to speak, I am happy to take any other if it makes your order simpler and if it facilitates any who wanted to change who got their speak in early! Regards jeremy

Hi Jeremy - and all others

Please state your first choice, and I will endeavour to see you get it. I have the impression from MBM, that now they know we are serious about ordering 20+ servos they will mix and match in a case of 6, if we need to.

So, anyone in doubt, please state your first choice finish. Currently there are 9 for powder coated finish (including myself). I am happy to stand by the quality of the finish - it is way better than the Metro unit I have - and it was NOS.

Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,

Having seen your pictures, my first choice would be for the powder coated version, provided it doesn't up set the perverbial apple cart.................

Many thanks

Nigel

Nigel

That's noted. There are over a dozen of us going for the powder coated now, which is good as we will have 2 cases of powder coated, and we can mix the last case with Chrome etc.

OK John, noted. That's 12 definite Powder coated which is good for 2 complete cases.

The third case will be a mix of Chrome, Painted, and Zinc. So anyone still not decided has a totally free choice.

Oh what to do.....?

Mike

Talking Main order for servos is placed

Guys

Main Order Placed
I have placed the main order for the servos, as per Jason's updated list: I hope for delivery by early next week - assuming no Customs strikes/delays.
(Sorton - I have kept you the option of Zinc or Powder coated, as Andrew Curtis does not mind either).

Out of interest - who still has their car on the road over winter, and therefore would like one of the first despatches?

Prices
Still looks like we should hold on to the advised costs - the servos may be a little cheaper on freight, but the adaptors will be a little more as they require the holes to be counter sunk to seat over the slightly proud MBM stud arrangement - it'll all be clear when you get your kit. Still hoping it'll be by Christmas!
Is there anyone away over Christmas that would prefer a later shipment ? (other than those who have notified me already)

Regards to all
Mike

Mine's taxed and mot'd... Depending on the weather, it'd be nice to put her Vikki back together and giver her a run before putting her properly to bed for the winter.
