Wing mirrors
Hi all, I have just received my wing mirrors in the post today (marlin mirrors) so will hopefully get them on very soon, but playing with them this morning I noticed they need a considerable amount of force to get them to bend back!
Anyone had this issue and what did they do to resolve? I have not had time to take them apart so it may be a quick fix
Cheers
Craig

Drilled them out, and replaced the pin with a nut and bolt.
Are you using paternity leave to build the car?!?!

haha no mate but while he is asleep I can order parts, organise and plan what is happening next!
ie have had the dash to 5 places this week for trimming, 3 would not touch 1 could not do for 4-6 weeks and said he would charge £££'s plus wanted to use his own leather for another £200 and the last one said he can do it to look oem but charges £65 an hour and it would take a full day

Hi Craig,
So what option did you go for in the end? And at what cost. I personaly just do not know what to do about my dash. I have tried spraying it matt black, and although it looked great to begin with it easily scratched and marked. Considered flocking, but would love a leather (other other material) trimmed dash but no idea on pricing but think it would be expensive.
Would love to know what option everyone else has gone for and an idea of costs?
Regards
Mike

Right ok guys, just been to newcastle and spoken to 2 very experienced trimmers who both told me it can't be done in leather!!!!
It would cost about £800 and come off after a year in the sun due to it being on fiberglass, both of them refused the job and told me that anyone who took it on was being unethical.
So am stuck now looks like it will get flocked! what sort of preparation does the dash need for flocking? does the gloss layer have to be sanded off?
Cheers
Craig
