Default MPG expectations

Hi All,

What MPG should I expect from a redtop 2lt on 45 carbs? I mean just blasting about but not going crazy all the time.

Cheers

It depends on gearing, aerodynamics, vehicle weight etc., but I'd expect to get less than 20mpg from a 2 litre on 45mm carbs, or you can claim to get 70mpg if you put a 'VW Bluemotion' badge on the back.

I have to ask, though, if it's a sunny day indulgence car that's only going to do a couple of thousand miles a year, does it really matter what mpg you get?
