No, real updates yet, but just to prove that reports of my death were premature, I am still building the double garage amongst other higher-priority projects on the life-change/new house front.

Tube frame chassis, period high-profile tyre and Lamborghini Miura Arancio paint. What's not to like?

They're not handles, they're twin exhausts.

Oxford - Great to see an update on your build thread.
As I often wonder what has happened to all the builds with no updates.
Although I must confess that I am slightly gutted that the garage is still under construction.
But life must come first and as long as you finish one day, all will be well.
Good luck, Paul.

Nice.

Although I really hope you didn't splash concrete on your nice green wheels poking out at the bottom of the tarpaulin!
All joking aside, this will be so much better that your old cabin in the woods.
Good luck, Paul.

Oxford - Great old photo.
Glad to hear the garage is progressing too.
As I look forward to a photo of you sitting in your 'big boy toy' one day.
Good luck, Paul.

Oxford – Come on Rob, it has been almost 5 months since your last update.
Can you at least confirm your car has been ‘indoors’ during the recent run of biblical rain.
Jokes aside, I hope all is well.
Cheers, Paul.

Thanks for asking, Paul.
As we all know, everything takes ten times longer than planned. The car build will resume imminently. The next step is electricity in the garage which should be complete in a couple of weeks. Oh, and to paint the doors a 1950s green (if such a colour exists...and possibly referred to as "Sage" by those who see in more than eight colours). It will be quite a contrast to the leaky shed in the woods in which the build started.
I did accidentally acquire this recently. Thankfully, it has been restored and the chap was almost giving it away. So, the only time it takes up will be on the estuary on a Friday evening with a cold beer.
My new plan is to have the "moon buggy" running faultlessly by March 2020 and then a summer of body work. Sounds realistic...at the moment.

Oxford – Your garage looks great.
I really like the roof extension providing an extra car port / log store area.
Also, I hadn’t realised it was at the bottom of a slope, but it looks at home with the other outbuildings.
However, I think you will find that a 1950s green for the doors was called “British Racing”, not “Sage”.
And while the leg pulling is going on…
A tractor and a boat?
I think you have taken to this whole move to a new life in country a little too well.
All jokes aside, I’m really happy for you.
Good luck with progress towards the moon buggy, Paul.

Yes, the double garage is a Dunster kit (amazing fit considering a natural product - everything straight and true). The car port is the design of my son and I. I wanted no obvious join or change of angle, and we have achieved it.
It will be a very useful cover when welding or cutting, but I'd like to think that most of that is behind me.
The garage has one bay for the build, and one for the Fergie.

It's getting there. I might have one or two car builds left in me but I expect this to be the last garage I build so I want to get it right.
Electrics are going in next. I think work will resume on Kermit in August...after a three year hiatus while life changed rather a lot for the better.
And, finally, a little bit of garage porn.
