Mike Miglia - Another great finish, well done sir.

Michiel - You must be pleased, as your car looks fantastic.

I can't wait to see it all put back together and ready for the road.

Good luck with the final part of your build, Paul.

Very nice colour choice expertly applied - it looks just stunning!

Now, get it back home and complete the fit and finish pronto.

You're going to love driving it and the people of the Netherlands are going to be blown out of their clogs when they see it blast past (no racial stereotyping intended with the clog thing).

And it goes without saying that we like to see loads of pictures!

Which megaphone exhaust are you talking about? Nothing really leaps out of the pictures, let's just have another quick look...

Oh, hang on a minute. Ahh yes, spotted it now.

Thank you all for your kind remarks. Next week I'm going to collect the car and I can see it in real life. I'm exited I tell you.

I like the megaphone exhaut (mounted properly offcourse). But I'm affraid it has to go. I can't controll the sound
Even with a DB-killer inside the silencer, it sounds like there is no silencer at all. Lovely sound, but a bit loud for road use.

Can't you fit an intermediate silencer to tone the sound....there are some that have variable baffles to Taylor the sound these days

This might be a good idea, but I don't know how much space I have. I will look into this as soon as I have my car back.

There are plenty of places you fit a middle box under the Triumph chassis. I even managed to route my exhaust up over the rear chassis rail and out through the side of the body -

If you want to keep your stinger tail pipe, and it sure does look cool, just make it happen!

It has been a while since I made my last post. Lots has happened in the meanwhile. First of all my car has been sprayed and I had to get it back from England to Holland.
I love the colour in real life even more then on the pictures. But there was something missing. It was too shining for my liking. That's why I had the car sprayed once more in a transparent satin laquer. And this gave the result I was aiming for! Beautiful it is. I get some pictures of it later, when I can get the car outside.

Now I have the car back once more, I can finish all the work.

I finished the upper side of my dashboard (behind the screen) in satin black. Got a nice wrinkle effect bij using anti stone chip paint which I gave a satin clear coat. Somehow the photo looks a bit pale.
[IMG][/IMG]

I finished one of the inner wheel arches at the back. They are from a VW T5, like I probably mentioned before. I used a rubber to seal it to the inner side of the body. No dirt will ruin the inner construction and parts now.
[IMG][/IMG]

With the leather I got from a second hand sofa, I had seat cushions made for my Kirkey racing seats. They did a hell of a job, giving the seats/headrest the appearance of an ancient racing vehicle. With worn spots at the right places. Underneath is a foam base in the shape of my ass. Good lord, they sit nicely! I also had the 4 point harnesses taylord to the right size.
[IMG][/IMG]

The seating position has become great. I'm 1,89 m. but I'm sitting real deep into the car. Maybe even too deep
My shoulders are just above the side of the car. I ceated a lot of extra room reshaping the rear inner corners of body tub. Leaving out inner side panels gives the extra room for my arms. All in all, very comfy.

Michiel, That looks excellent, great idea to use the old sofa leather for the seats, looks really period.

I was looking at your door hinges when I was picking my frame and shell up, they are superb.

Excellent vision. You're really achieving the period race car look.

Michiel,

Very professional job, my compliments! I would like to see it "live" & would be great to see the rest of the car as well - I know the plans you had and I'm curious how everything did come together.

Michiel

One first class job and as i have already said your skills and attention to detail is of a pro, i am sure you are very proud of how the car looks and you will have plenty of attention out on the road where it belongs.

More photos please and may be a short video.
