Hey peeps, come to think of it, where did you get the spinners, what are they made of, and how are they fixed on please?

They look superb!

original wheels

Sprayed black.
Made some collars to fit inside wheel center secured wiTh allen screws. reduced to fit spinners found on well known auction site which fit over something around 55mm collar.
With all cars its the look. when all the parts come together and produce something much more than the bits bolted together.

These spinners are designed to fit over a collar, so you need to have wheels with deep centers as per my pics. and fit a collar. or some other adapter. will pop one off and put some pics later

They are chrome aluminium, but you would need to make up some type of collar or plate to fit them.

Thanks for that info Peeps.
I do already have my spinners made up and bolted onto my wheels, and it was quite a tricky job engineering-wise!
But your ones look so elegent, and nicer than mine, but after all the effort I've put in to get this far, I'd be stupid to start again!

As a side note, I was going to use the land rover splines as suggest in the build manual, but I didn't like them. I found something called a rivnut on ebay. It's basically a spline on the outside and a screw thread on the inside. Unfortunately the M8 nut that fits the standard MX5 wiper arm thread isn't fat enough to put the TEX automotive chrome wiper arms on so I got M10 nuts and araldited them on to the standard screw thread. I'll let everyone know how I get on with them as the car will be my daily driver when it's done.
