was thinking of 15x8 on rear and 15x7 on the front. Do you think that would work?

Yes. Plus a 1" spacer on the rear.

Nick, once again doing my work for me while I take my "eye off the ball" Thank you. Correct as always. The list of links is not complete, but useful as a starting point.

Just filling in time while you read the Sammie forum
I think the mirror link may be for the wrong mirror?

I think you simply go for the minimum offset.
Eg I have 6.5j rims with a 43ET, but a 20mm spacer on the front, which brings the ET down to 23mm.
If you have 8" rims that will be about 3/4 inch wider (20mm) each side than yr existing 6" rims. I would not go wider or less offset as it may look good but you may get bump steer and there may be clearance probs ob full lock.

Sorry, I was just looking at wheels on ebay.......
Nick is right about the front, I would go with the 15x7 ET20. The rear needs to be the 15x8, 4x100 PCD, ET5 with a 25 mm spacer. But I will double check for you, before you go ahead and order anything.

Pre GRP work
Been keeping myself busy in the garage while I wait to go and see Chris on the 23rd to sort out the kit. Decided to strip down the rear suspension, deal with any worn parts, Brake disc's Pads etc . Glad I did in the end as the rear hub to wishbone bolt was bent and now awaiting new coilovers and discs & Pads. So now coating the suspension arms and decided to treat any surface rust and cold galvanize everything, followed by a good dosage of underseal. Result below

Great work Nev, you will have a fully sorted base car by the time you get the kit home. See you on the 23rd

Hope the kettle is going to be at the ready , looking forward to meeting up to chat about all the stuff i am out of practice at... i.e. working with GRP.
By the way have you got any pic's of how the rear section attaches to the tub, especially by the doors?

Sorry Nev I have fallen behind on the Build Manual but take a look at the "Convertible MX250" and "New Version of MX250 based of Mk2 MX5 " treads whilst I catch up!

That looks really good. Are they standard shocks/springs?
You also seem to have a nice working height. Whats the car up on??

Ramps
Seanick,
The car is on drive on ramps that can be elavated once the car is on.
Here

ramps (2).JPG
At the moment have refitted the Bilsteins and standard springs, but ordering some coil overs to give the option of altering the ride height for the flexability once i have the new wheels and the body on.
Ramps were from a company called Levo Artis

I prefer the original Gulf light blue. But If you get it to look like that picture you will have to give yourself more time to go anywhere as it'll stop the traffic.
