I was being diplomatic because I've seen people proudly driving worse monstrosities than that at various kit-car shows.

I felt my initial response to your 'pride and joy', which was to shout "I HATE IT. I HATE ITS CHEAP NASTINESS! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING YOU CRETIN" at the computer screen might just be considered a tad offensive.

I thought you had got carried away after playing with the rest of the bodywork. As I said, it was a 'challenging' look. Glad it wasn't for real though...

Scoop still doesn't look symetrical though.

Scoop! that's the bonnet aperture! I just hope the V8 and gear box will come back out thru there.

I have actual formed a scoop in the bonnet and will post a picture as soon as I remaster the technology.

It is central give or take a millimetre or two quite hard to take a photo showing that.

I want to get the car out of the garage so I can take a long shot of photo of the body now most of the detail has been roughly shaped.

It is looking very interesting - will get a much better idea after the paint & trim & wheels pull it all together.

Default testing to get picture to show

[IMG][/IMG]

right then got it cracked, harder than building the car, this is a shot of the front quarter from the drivers side.

All the structural alteration made ply wood lots of glue screws and filler foam, I have two rea bulk heads one to stop the spare wheel coming forward and one that forms storage two lits for ever day stuff and also allows for the seat belt mounting to run thru.

[IMG][/IMG]

All the footwell ply and rear quarter ply panels are cut to fit and glue into place I now need to be glass them all into the body and two each other. This is my version of the Norfolk scoop or can I call it the Surrey Scoop or the inverted scoop, decided to cut it into the bonnet to that I get the line of the wing swooping over the doors with out the height of the bonnet centre let alone adding height in a scoop. I just hope I can glass this in to achieve the cardboard mock ups.

[IMG][/IMG]

I wanted to step back and get a distance shoot of the passenger side probably a little far back

[IMG][/IMG]

Showing how subtle the scoop is within the bonnet

[IMG][/IMG]

from the front closer detail, thinking about making the instrument binnacle a little larger

[IMG][/IMG]

From the rear quarter.

The great thing about the scimitar based G46 and I do not know if this is possible with the spyder is that as everything is bonded to the floor pan/bulkhead which allows me to simply hoist the body off once it is structural bonded and put it onto a table which will allow me to finished the engine, gear box drive chain etc etc and also start filling and preparing the body separately

Default Fiarrati Air Dam

For any of those who doubt the air dam is not going to be fixer to the G46 here it is being fixed to Madmarks Fiarrati, he has an odd mix of vehicles that's his[IMG][/IMG] RAM in the back ground which he uses to carry the Punto in!

good job charman
It is hard for some to look at all the different colours and see the finished car especially when in silohuette it looks like the car you started with.

But that just means you've done the mods well

I cant wait to see it completed- what colour scheme?

Excellent photos give a much better indication of how the finished vehicle will look..

The inverted scoop is a very neat solution to the raised area of the bonnet that was giving me some doubts when reviewing the photos of Orca I took at Exeter and Poole...

Glad it looks nothing like a Cobra - something Maserati-ish going on though?

Looking forward to your next set of snaps!

Looking good.

Could take larger wheels with those new arches.

Did you work out how to do the beaded lip on the arches?

I wanted to be careful here and respect Gary's design with the central humping bonnet which is part of the Sammio ranges DNA. With the inverted scoop the hump line to the bulk head is respected, however I was not unhappy with the original bonnet line, it's just that I wanted he air scoop.
