Will take more photos shortly.

I cleaned it all under the bonnet yesterday. I'm not doing more than that for now as I'm not much on leaving the bonnet open at shows.

Today I made one of the new door top edge trims. Chris made some when I first had the car done but these are going to be a bit longer. They are a good place to mount the mirrors and should look fine when polished up.

My 3 little granddaughters are here from South Wales for a few days now so the car is on the back burner until the end of the week.

Cheers, Bob.

Bob - Your car is going back together very nicely.

I like the reversing light & don't think anyone else has done it like that.

Good luck, Paul.

Thanks Paul,
I had the rev and rear fog light under the rear valance to start with but a mate said it looked like a pair of bo--ocks hanging down so I had to have a different plan. The rear fog is a race car wet weather light on the edge of the roll cage.

Cheers, Bob.

I had some time on the car today doing fitting up on the outside.

Changed to the steel wheels, fitted the badges and finished making the door top trims.

Very nice Bob!

Do i notice a grill in the bonnet air intake? If so any chance of a close up pic? inside and out?

Andy

Looking really smart. The wheels look good now with the rest of car complete, I thought they wouldn't work when I first saw them.
Nice build , well done !!

Looking good
Steels work well with knock off centres
The colour really does make it look authentic.

Thanks gents.

Andy, I'll take some pictures of the bonnet grille for you. It's been on a while but being black it doesn't show up much. It's made for a piece of mesh from some sort of Mitsubishi which I folded up and glassed in from behind. It also has grilles over the wing vents (made from the perforated metal on the back of an old heater) but again as they are black they don't show up much.

Cheers, Bob.

The steel wheels make it look great. Like the subtle grill badge too.

Wow. The paint looks mint.

I know you never set out to do the F car slave thing and when you first showed the colour I couldn't see it but, yeah, absolutely - that genuinely looks like a real Italian classic car of the period.

That does look superb. The steel wheels really work for me, very period racing Campagnoli's and they sit perfectly in the arches too. Very nice.

The car looks great!

Also loving the steel wheel look. They really go with the car style.

The most understated one yet. Your colour/wheels/stance choices are spot on.

Thanks again everyone.
I had a go at the rear window trims but will be having a word with a guy who's done some before to see if he'll do it for. It's bound to be cheaper than having to replace the rubber I'm bound to rip and redo the paint I'm certain to scratch.

Outside now just needs the sill trims then it's get on with the interior and boot trimming.

Outside may get period race stickers later, I'll see what I think when I've lived with it.

Also need to sort some some of rubber round the windscreen and possibly a sun strip as the top of the glass accidentally got sanded/scratched.

The exhaust will be done in stainless before Stoneleigh.

Cheers, Bob.

Morning Bob , car looks spot on and those wheels really finish it off , dont suppose you know of anybody who would want to buy a set of genuine Minilites with the correctly rated tyres suitable for a Z3 or an E Type Jag! Geoff .

Thanks Geoff,
I think your wheels look great but if you did want a change, I'm sure someone on here who's planning/building a Z3 based kit would want them.

ANDY--
Here's a couple of pictures of the bonnet mesh for you. Also one with the bonnet up to show that I'm not much into fancy paint and chrome under there as I tend to leave it closed at events.

Today I'm starting on the door trims, but only until lunch as this afternoon is ice cream eating at the seaside.

Better get back to it, I only came in to check on Nubodi's thread to make sure I don't miss anything obvious.

Bob.
