I was at Nubodi on Friday trial fitting my wires for clearance - they looked great on your car Andy!

Anyway I saw the centre console and door panels on the car and I have to say the pictures here really do not do them justice at all. They look great and fantastic disguise.

In fact - you may have to make some more *ahem*

Re: the trigger - could you look to veedub scene they have plenty of triggered gearshift handles (for the reverese lock out)?

Of the 427 Cobra lock out style:

No idea if you could adapt them - more likely use a similar approach?

The problem is the gear shaft is so short. I will find a solution. Anyway my new heater control knobs came today. They needed a little modifying (one day something will just fit perfectly) but look great and more importantly ..work.

I managed to start on the centre console yesterday. Now I'm on a deadline for a show I have to find time. At least the weather is being kind. Here is a cardboard template made from two cereal boxes stitched together (I really should label the bags of cereal now).

Once I was happy with the fit I transferred the template to the remaining aluminium sheet. Ready to cut.

A bracket was added each side to mount the console. It is secured by a black rivet. The brackets will then be sprayed matt black and will be hidden by the seats once fitted

These are great looking cars , the finishing touches and details really help with the 'illusion'

Still a long way to go yet though!

Being a convertible its more important than a coupe interior is I think, its all there with the roof peeled back its all on show.

I just wanted to show people that a good looking interior could be achieved under £500 by being creative and doing it yourself instead of paying out £3-5000 to a trimmer. I'm still on target at around £400 presently.

I did mine myself , cost about £200 -£250.
Not a pro job but I take a but of pride as I did it myself

Pride in your own work (and save lots of pennies).
Was that including seats, steering wheel, stereo, speakers, carpet, basically, every non standard part in the cabin?
If so well done!

That was for door cards, steering wheel (eBay) stereo (eBay) trim(eBay £40) got a friends wife to edge it, speakers (eBay) re coloured the seats my self .
It can be done if you shop around .

The holes were cut for the various furniture on the centre console and bolted on place (or will when the UNF nut set box arrives to match the chrome countersunk bolts...why not metric like the rest of the world! Grrr).
