Update - got it welded, but not feeling that confident now - i think if I come in the car or not will depend on the weather

Well I'm here - unfortunatly not in the car though - just felt a little bit nervous of taking it that far on its first run, also I wasn't sure what the weather was going to do - very sad I couldn't bring it

Photos of the chassis I bought. The removal of parts starts this weekend, once I have erected the marquee/workshop/mancave!

Good stuff,
it's really cool to think in a few months time that forgotten chassis will have a new life once again as one of the best looking cars on the road

Good luck with the "de-bugging". I'll be interested to see what the grille looks like when it's finished. I'm not sure what to do about the front grille for mine as I would like to modify the front end a little to either look more like the Ferrari T166 or the T125 F1. Not sure how to go about it though as I have never worked with fibre glass before! That might lead on to modifying the rear too - if the front end goes ok. No doubt I will be asking for advice on that!

Sounds like a lot of work, although I'd have loved to have been able to modify my front slightly too if I'd had the skills.

Grille bits arrived and I roughly put it together to see if it fits tomorrow, it's gonna need alu welding next week

Have you considered bonding the grille parts together rather than welding? Modern cars with ally body parts are bonded together not welded, to avoid distortion I suppose.

The new grille is really going to look the part when it is finished.

I am guessing it is a bit of a squeeze in the cockpit with two people in there.

Good luck, Paul.

The car looks great so far and the grill will be a very cool touch. I noticed that the aero screen is for the driver only. How does the other half feel about that?

Cheers guys.
I don't think she's even realised yet! I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut and hope she doesn't notice

That's mean and insensitive. I wonder if we're related?

The Corsa is positively stunning, by the way, but then again, who wouldn't like a 166 Inter?
