Default Cordite frame build

I have recently been putting together a framework to put a Cordite body with stretched bonnet onto a Herald chassis ...I'm not sure how far the job is going in my hands , but thought the pictures of the frame might be of interest ......I know how much you all like pictures !!

The use of original bulkhead approach has been altered on this one to a box section version and the rear fuel tank framework shown is to accept an aluminium locost style fuel tank ...

since the pictures were taken , 2 extra body mount braces were added ..the body was secured at the bulkhead , on top of the rear bulkhead hoop ( mounts visible in pics ) and 2 at the very rear ...by fixing the front in place , then moving backwards squaring the centre and fixing down and then finally twisting the rear to level it up and mounting it to the frame ....you can get the twist out of these bodies and apart from a slight rear valance descrepancy , they can be straightened out quite well ....the same technique will work on a Miglia too ...

I often wonder what happened to the rest of the original Cordite kits.

Interesting that the owner is going for a Herald base, rather than a Spitfire one.

Good luck, Paul.
