I just found an extra sheet in the wiring loom guide that got left in the box...

In the section marked relays there is mention of a Flasher

Green/Pink - Hazard Switch
Green/Brown - Flasher Signal Output
Black - Earth.

My flasher unit has just 2 terminals, B & L. Looking on the Lucas website B is power in and L is Flasher Signal. I am guessing Green/Pink = B and Green/Brown = L.

I am confused by the next two entries which are both in the Dashboard Connector section of the wiring loom guide. See pictures:

By counting the wires in the loom I appear to be looking at the ones described in the first picture (5 to the indicator and 8 to the hazard).

I have an ON-OFF-ON toggle for the indicators and an ON-OFF toggle for the hazards. Which wires to which places then?

Indicator Switch
Terminal A = On = ?
Terminal B = Power In
Terminal C = On = ?

Wires Available
1 - Green/White = O/S Flasher
2 - Green/Red = N/S Flasher
3 - Green/Brown = Flasher Relay 49A Power
4 - Red/White = Illumination
5 - Black = Earth

Hazard Switch
Terminal A = ON = ?
Terminal B = Power In
Terminal C = OFF = ?

Wires available
1 - Green/White = O/S Flasher
2 - Green/Red = N/S Flasher
3 - Green Brown = Flasher Relay 49A Power
4 - Green/Pink = Flasher Relay 49 Signal
5 - Green = Switched Live
6 - Purple = Perm Live
7 - Red/White = Illumination
8 - Black = Earth

In both cases the switches themselves are not illuminated so I guess the Red/White can be ignored for both.

WCA - Not sure I can be much help, but I'll give it a go.
I don't have access to the Scimitar wiring diagram.
However, I have been playing with the Spitfire 1500 one...

If I've followed that correctly the 3 terminals on the indicator switch (67) go as follows:
- O/S front & rear indicator units, dash warning light (54) & hazard switch
- N/S front & rear indicator units, dash warning light & hazard switch
- Indicator flasher unit (66)
( All the indicator lights are connected to earth )

In the Spitfire, the indicator flasher unit draws power via the hazard switch.
The hazard switch (53) is connected as follows:
- Flasher unit for indicator switch (66)
- O/S front & rear indicator units, dash warning light
- N/S front & rear indicator units, dash warning light
- Earth
- Power via hazard flasher unit (51)

As I say, no idea if that is any use what so ever, but I thought I'd throw it in there.

Good luck, Paul.

All advice welcome. My Scimi didn't have a wiring loom, it has a mouse nest. I bought a 'standard' kit car loom which has wires for all sorts of modern things like hand bake switches and side repeaters.

My car had no such nonsense but also had nothing like flasher units or wires I could identify and replace.

Basically I am starting with a bunch of labelled wires, buying switches, lights and components and hoping.

I just can't work out which bit of wire goes to which switch/component/light at the moment. Will check again in the morning to see if the wires have untangled themselves and are clearly labelled.

Indicator wired.

Just realized the switch I bought for the hazard is the wrong type.

Prototype Dashboard is coming along nicely. Just need to get the head light switch and correct hazard switch and we are almost up to fitting.

It's 'Twisted Spyder'

(Which is also a great name/theme for a car..but probably a bit too close to the truth for some Triumph chassis' waiting for conversation out there...)

Edited because posted twice; not in error, but just making sure the party of the first part had a copy to send to the party of the third part, but I couriered instead.
