Default How to remove Z3 rear view mirror?

How do you remove a z3 rear view mirror from the glass.

I want to swap for something more chrome lol! Looking at Lucas 608s....

it twists off as for removing the metal stub it will leave on the screen no idea

Correct. Twist it off. For removing the metal tab, use a fine wire and a sawing motion. I've even done it with dental floss. Go slowly.

Cheers Andy - couldn't find anything that showed it.
I've read about heating the screen up to help melt the glue but it says risk of breaking windscreen which would be a disaster bearing in mind the grp surround so it all sounded a bit nerve wracking! Another one mentioned a cheese wire to sort of garot it off lol

Just wondered if anyone had done it on here so had tips
