Replacing the "url" at both ends of the file name with "img" gives...
I do like this build and might steal the idea of shaping plywood to match the hump.

Thanks for the tip I will try again or ask a small child to assist.
The ply you see bent and shaped over the bulkhead took several attempts after snapping in sections at different places at different times then I realised it dependable on the where the laminations of the ply ran being more difficult to bend in some places, so I had to re-cut the template so the point that needed the most bending fell in the right place on the sheet of ply.
Still got half of the screen rail glassed this evening took a photo but there is no way I am going to attempt loading it now.

CT. Thanks for making the effort to post the pictures.
It is really good to see your build progressing so well.
I love the steering wheel, it goes well with all that ply.
Are you going to varnish all that wood?
Nice side vents to.
I see the passenger will get more protection from the screen being a lot lower
Have you bolted the seat to the chasis rails?
I have been cutting out my floors tonight so I can get my legs under the steering wheel. I will also need to shift column about 2" towards the centre as the door wont shut with the scimitar 15" wheel.
Unfortunately my 356 screen does NOT fit the bulk head.
The Sammio bulge raises the centre too high.
So the decision is to recess the screen or
create a fairing around the sides to lift the bodywork to the screen.
I must follow your example and post a few shot of my build.

I have had the steering wheel for 43 years which came off a Vitesse that was owned by a man my dad worked for, can't tell you how many cars it's been fitted too. It is to big I only used to use it for show on my MGBGT and Hawk 289 (should note they are previously owned cars) but regularly drove them with a smaller wheel. I must check the diameter? Constantly rapping knuckles on the body work or turning indicators on!
No the passengers side is just sitting at a skew and the drivers side is the height they will sit which is above the chassis rail, however I will look to see if I can get them to sit at the lower level with a bit of cutting and chopping. We are also going to cut the hump out of the floor where the original front seats sat as its to tight on the back of your legs and makes pedal functions dangerous, jobs for Charlie when is next home.
Yes it's known locally as the "Plywood Special" Ronseal has been suggested as "it does what it says on the tin"
I see your dilemma with the screen time for cardboard templates and lots of standing back and looking, love to see some photos.

Continuing from the last picture the expanded foam was carved down to ths shape
from here built up in several layers of filler and shaped up
The last time we posted we were making the screen rail shown above formed in ply bend a million times and broke as many time below is a shot of the front quarter showing the rail and second template for the screen which will have a few more mods before the final shape
The photo also shows the door, yes a door after deciding to have no doors the realisation was that I would need to carry around a set of Victorian library steps with a pole handle to get in and out the car, so door it was
managed to get an interesting shape to the door and are use concealed 2CV hinges to hang the door a lot of work done to shape the front quarter panel and new wheel arch profile marked out
dash board board template shown with wheel in position no photo but currently re-shaping the top of the rear wheel arch on the near side as it is completely different from the drivers side and of centre to the wheel
something made my phone camera go blue!!!!!!!! but included the photos to show the over profile of the car which we are now happy with
can you see what we mean about the wheel arch being off centre
Now I have been shown how to post photos again I will make a further effort to post photos

Wow Charman,
I like your changes to the G46 design. I would say they are improvements. The wheel arch thing and the headlights change give the front a real nice touch.

On the first one we used a layer of glass fibre on the second one we graduated to P40.
I am pretty sure if the foam shrinks back the glass fibre and P40 have formed their own structure, so the foam is under a form-work or as we like to say false- work or shutter. Most of the foam will be dug away to fit the headlight bowl.

I reply to Paul's comments on Housemartin's thread as to the whereabouts of the G46 boys I would just like you to know that the G46 V8 Mk1 is still very much alive albeit about to awake from a very deep sleep.
What with my Daughter getting married in 2014, selling the family home and desiging and building a semi retirement ecological barn conversion for the new family home which we have now moved into it has been a bit hectic.
Now my house is finished and we have started work on the garage which is also an old barn, which has now got it new floor slab, roof and external walls being clad and nearly ready for us to re-commence various projects.
Been following the site with great interest over the past two years and my inspiration has been re-kindled after a visit last week to the Ferrari museum at Maranello and having my photo taken next to a TR625 (or similar) which has always been my inspiration since meeting Garry that first day in Poole.
I do have a photo's of the car before it was moth balled which I will ask Charlie to post latter.

Welcome back Charman, glad to hear all is well.
I like the sound of the Eco Barn conversion. Of course, now you've lowered your carbon footprint you do realise you'll need to get your G46 project on the road to balance the level of 'greenhouse' gasses going into the atmosphere.
After all, I've heard that messing with the atmosphere is a bad idea, so a reduction in your carbon emissions could lead to catastrophic Global Cooling and trigger another Ice Age...

Towed it's nice to be back.
I am no tree huger currently have three XJS,s on ice (old wrecks) 2 straight sixes and a V12, the V8 in the G46 and an old Ford 302 in bits.
The eco barn is pure economics, no more gas bills, very small electric bill, no waste water charges and the government give me back Renewable Heat Incentives ££££, only the rates and a water bill to pay into the future.
The thing is when I get arrested in my car for polluting the planet and I can ask for the eco barn to be considered as mitigating circumstances (or something like that)
It does make people laugh when I show them the house and they then see what's in the garage

Just been looking back through your thread which looks to be a comprehensive build, i notice we have done a few things the same the bendy ply forming a base for the bonett top fiberglass and the use of expanding foam.
Looking forward to following this build and hopefully plenty of pictures.
