That was it, anyone know if he's got any left? Could be worth squirrelling a couple away...

Default Chassis

Tirtone,
thanks for that, have emailed him. Didn't want to ring on a Sunday. Hopefully he might still have one, and have said if he had a chassis and was agreeable, I would collect it today. Driving a Nissan Navara as a company car does have it's uses!!

Thanks again guys.

Default Chassiseseses!

Hi Guys, heard my phone pinging your replies while I was emailing the chap. If you want and subject to how many I can ratchet strap to my pickup I would be prepared to collect more than one if he still has any more!

Last I saw (Earlier this week) he had around 6 - 8 chassis in various states. He was talking about selling them off at £50 a piece for 'bulk buys'. I'm sure he'd be OK with a phone call. If he's there and available he'd answer otherwise he's likely to wait for caller to leave a message.
Beware if you go there though. I called in for a compensator (around a fiver) and saw so many goodies I left a ton short ;-)
Good luck!

Default Chassis

Hi Andy,
spoke to him, and going to get a price from a local to me courier. He said as I am a way off it would be too dear to do it. £200 ish. He says have about half a dozen or so left and wants them all gone. The riggers on almost all are not great, but he will supply new as required. Also the rear horns are not too good on most. I would like to buy more than one, but will have to wait until I get my courier quote. As I get rediculous discount from Rimmers, might buy two chassis and buy the outriggers as required from Rimmers. That way might get my cake and eat it:-)) Will let you guys know.

Default Before photo

Hi Guys, at last got round to a before photo. Not too sure if the seat I've chosen is the "correct" period. About the chassis, Max didn't get back to me, and things have been to busy for me to ring, but will and let you know.

Nice seats! I've always thought that there's not enough wicker used in the automotive industry

If you imagine the seat cut down, without legs and throw on some padding and leather it would make a very nice bucket seat!

Lloyd Loom I presume?

I think wicker might make a comeback, it's a period look!

All you need it one of those perforated leather wrapped steering wheel covers and you are made!

Why stop at the seats? How about a wicker body - just don't let the villagers see Edward Woodwood sitting in it or you could end up claiming on your fire and theft insurance...

Default Doors!

Should really be Micheal Caine saying "I only said blow the bl**dy doors off!"

Work has come to a halt while I decide where to go chassis wise. concerned that to repair will be almost the cost of a decent donor. I want to get started with the chassis first, and get onto the rest later. Still have to remove the dash, steering column and remove the bulkhead, but had a few domestic issues to keep me occupied.

While I could do with some moral support, which you guys give me, I was wondering if there are any Sammio or would be Sammio builders reasonably close to Boston who want to build but have no where to build. I wanted to say that I have a secure building of a good size suitable for a rebuild which might be available complete with tea and help in exchange for some help with mine. It's not a case that I cannot do it, but think that sometimes two sets of hands can be very useful. I have to say some people are building in unbelievable conditions. If not but someone is building close to me, I would be happy to come over to them as time allows when needed regularly or of course less regularly if they are further away.

Default Not that local...

But I'm in Doncaster, just starting my Cordite. Boston is not so far on a sunny day. Currently running a TVR as my fun car, so any excuse for a run out. Got a garage so won't be making it a commute. Hard enought finding time when I'm at home building! Simon

Default Father Christmas has come early!!

As some of you guys are aware, things are a bit upside down at present. (Might change my name to Mr. Doomed or something more positive!!)

The sun always shines on the righteous, and today it was my turn. Max at Totally Triumph rang appologising for not getting back to me. He said his son would deliver my two chassis the next day. Time for a late lunch me thinks. The chassis that were mentioned are all second hand, and he said he would give me a reasonable complete chassis and a second main chassis without the outriggers. Well, they turned up the full one virtually ready to fit after degreasing, the second one still very solid front to back just needing some patches grinding off, some tidying up and a new set of out riggers (he's sold all his at £12.00 each!) and that would be fine as well. How much you ask. Two chassis, trailored from Cheshire to Boston 130 miles plus all in £170.00. Bargain!!!!

Now I know there is a God, I shall get going and try to catch up!!

Photos enclosed of the bargain buys. Yes, the pigs ears are as solid as they look, same as the rear most outriggers.

I'm on holiday next week, oh joy lets crack on and I will keep the camera rolling.

Default Solid

Perhaps at last that makes me one of the "so solid crew". They are both very good, and certainly the complete one looks like it needs a good day and it will be almost as spotless as some one elses ;-D
