I thought the same - In fact my first thought was "tell the boys at Tribute that someone's taken moulds off their car!", then reading further down they say 'photos with permission' etc. If it's true (no reason to believe it's not?) then it looks like Tribute have an Essex Distributor.

That's just what I first thought Mitchelkitman!

Can't help being a little amused though. We are all spending lots of time
and money copying Jaguars, Ferraris, alphas, lancias etc. But the minute a stranger we don't know copies a copy of a copy of a copy, it causes outrage! You have to see the funny side of it :-)

Ah - but there's a copy and there's taking moulds off, and there's passing off as.
3 different scenarios, and (unless someone knows more) different legalities.
The tribute isn't a direct copy of, and (unless you put on certain badges) isn't pretending (directly) to be, and no moulds were taken off an original. If you took moulds off a Tribute and started selling it as your own product that would surely be illegal?

Yes I'm sure you are right, and I take your point.

If the company is telling the truth in the ad, perhaps they are legitimate, but time will tell.

Right, back home, uploaded Geoff's progress pictures for him.......

Dan from Tempesta came to visit us at the end of last year to order an MX250 hardtop kit. He explained his car building history and his business plans. He asked if it would be OK with us if he purchased kits and offered them for sale, at a profit, and/or build part finished/finished cars.

I have no problem with anyone trying to turn a profit from a kit purchased from us, that's business, as long as we are selling kits. Still a few details to sort out with Dan at Tempasta, but that's it.......

Fast "n" Loud is on the telly, bye.....

Now that all is in the open, perhaps Dan's chances of making any profit are slipping away as anyone reading this forum would just buy from Trib and save cash.

Couldn't agree more Gaz, really love what they do and just as importantly how they do it, no theme cars thank god, loved American Chopper when it started but the Theme Bike thing soon wore very thin for me.

Never seen fast and loud, will be on the lookout as it's so well thought of!

When my build in done it's going to be loud with the side exhaust, but fast?

Not with a Spitty engine methinks!

Don't worry Scottie, I can assure you that it'll feel fast even if it isn't.

With the custom side pipes, mine is LOUD and the 2.8 straight six makes it reasonably fast too.

Shall I post a picture... ;-)
