Default Door release for doored version

Hi guys.

Just wondered how people have done the release of the door.

I've started playing with solenoids and push button start buttons.

Cheers

Hi John,

Don't know if it is possible....but the TVR chimera had a great system....big aluminium knob on the centre console...twist it one way for drivers side, the other for passenger.

..and for getting in to the car...a secret button on the underside of the drivers door mirror opened the driver door.

Very cool...but probably very tricky to do...ready for the challenge?

Rich

Hi Rich.

Yes did think about the mirror idea from the TVR but was not aware of the inter knob. Did think this idea was cool. My idea (as well as Steve's) is a chrome starter button each side behind the shoulder on the body. Did not want to add any more wiring down the centre tunnel for the knob. Also no room on the dash for it.

Cheers

John I am wanting remote locking with no push pull locks, but the problem I am having is trying to find a reciever with 2 signals for each door!

I don't want both doors opening when there is only me in the car

Craig

If you had a remote with lock and unlock button on it as most are, could you use both the signals, one for the drivers door, and then the passenger, as you are only unlocking.

I decided not to go the remote unlock route. I already have a remote fob for the Toad and only has outputs for central locking. As well as all the wiring done at the dash (could have done knowing about this when doing the dash wiring).

PS. You time of posts Steve make me laugh. No time to sleep!

Just to let people know, I managed to get the doors releasing today with a solonoid. Trouble is the push button start buttons (chrome ones) could not handle the current. Burnt them out. So a relay is needed for each.
