Default Convertible MX250

This is what happens when you give Dan an angle grinder on a Friday afternoon

Hi Jamie, keep checking for updates. The panels will fit both Mk1 and 2 with some trimming of panels when bonding them on to the base car.

Probably around the £1500 mark, obviously it will not need the rollcage either!

Progress on the soft-top rear end. The boot lid needed "deconstructing" to reduce the height at the rear to follow the line of the rear wings.

The top of the rear wings needed sectioning and lowering to work with the soft top. Interesting to see the width and length the kit adds to the car whilst the top of the wing is missing.

Rear works much better with the top of the wings lowered.

Removable hardtop anyone?

The buck is now 95% finished. The rear lights came from my "that will come in handy for something" box, I have no idea what they are from but they really suit this car.

We "primed" the convertible today, borrowed the wheels and numberplate from the red 250 to mock up a more finished looking car. And then the sun came out!!!!

Is it still possible to fit a standard hard top to the car?
Any chance of a few photos with one on???

Yes you can still fit the original hardtop on after conversion. I don't have one to show you, but will Photoshop something and post on here in a few days.

Nice one, I didn't think there would be an issue but I had to ask.

Progress on the new rear wing moulds. Final sanding before a coat of PVA. Some of the hardtop moulds will still be interchangable.

Finished moulds needing trimming and "cracking" off

As with the hardtop version of the MX250 we will be offering a "smooth" rear wing version. Seanick already has this option on his car.

It does look a lot cleaner wthout the rear vents. Very sleek.

Just need to find a way to see one in person before I break out the cheque book.

In the mean time, I'm checking the site daily for the latest happenings with the design of the kits and drooling over how beautiful the shape is
