Memories a funny thing no idea what car you are thinking off that looks like this

Not a Kougar

I'm thinking of this Kougar Monza design.
Not sure how many were made though, its quite a rarity.

As it happens, this particular car is for sale in the back of the latest edition of Classic & Sports Car. Priced at £60k I think.

I like the wide look - but being a bit more performance orientated, I’d have to put the right size Wheels/tyres on - the sidewalls on those balloons will be rubbish in high speed corners.

Chassis number for the Scimitar registrar please?

I'll get the details for you from Big G..

A bit more bodywork achieved on the ''Formorsa'' , re-aligned headrest and dash pod that messing about with the body had thrown out of whack ...also , the extra width has meant the boot aperture needed re-shaping too ...

I've started getting pedals , m/cylinders and steering in place too

I have been waiting for Geoffs rebuilt engine to arrive so I could proceed with his build , but its going to be another 2-3 weeks apparently ....so I made the decision to do a bit whilst I wait ...

I have widened the bonnet , I cut it in half placing both halves where they needed to be and pinched the nose in slightly as I wanted to keep the 'face' from looking too wide ...These two halves were then tagged together by glassing a couple of token areas on the outside to hold them together .... when cured , the bonnet was removed and flipped over and strapped to ensure minimal movement ..I then glassed the whole cut on the inside. .finally . .a liberal coating of hairy filler was applied to the outside to level it up and add strength ...

I had already fitted the Lotus radiator into a bolt on bracket and I added the framework for the flip front to this ...extra tube and bracing this time as its a larger panel than normal ...

Its a 1936 MG TA ...It belongs to Glan , the guy who helped me create the bodyshell ...It's in here so he can do a bit of work on it , re-assembly and paint ...it is a very pretty car with lots of new parts including re-built engine etc.... progress has been slow as Glan's health isn't great , but we plan to start prepping it for paint this coming week , if he's up to it ....the car is kind of for sale as well ...Glan would love to finish it and we hope to achieve that , but he's realistic enough to know that if someone wanted it as it is or unfinished ..he would sell her ..

Started fitting Electric power steering using an MG TF unit ...not too painful ...still need to get steering shaft sleeved and tig welded and introduce a pillow block to the lower half , now an extra u/j is involved ...but I could repeat this exercise for around £200 + steering parts and minus the wiring ...

Good idea putting the power steering on Gary, would it be be an easy job to retro fit onto mine its something I have been considering, driving is fine its just parking and maneuvering into my garage is hard work

Gary – Neat job on the bonnet widening.

I can certainly vouch for the fact that joins like this remain very solid when set.

All the cuts I made in my car have lasted years / miles without any issues.

Cheers, Paul.
