Mornin.. Still watching this with interest....still a little concerned about the 'bulbous' look of the front wings / arches....so here's another daft idea..
I know the bonnet line and centre front cant go any lower because of the engine / front panel, but how about..(wait for this..) doing a pie cut the whole length of the wing, where the inside curve meets the 'bonnet', under the headlight, and back up the outside of the wing, between the arch and the top of the wing...starting with nothing at the back, upto a couple of inches at the front.. (like the whole top of the wing is a lid, put back on a bit lower...!)
Then the lines would flow and all will be well with the world...
The idea works in my head anyway...!!
All the best

I should imgine the constraint causing the wings to sit up as they do is because the strut towers force the design that way.

I think this looks fantastic, will be nice to see how low Chris can get it but I'm sure he'll be putting those photoshop skills to good use before we know it.

Love the front but would like to see the purer AC Ace rear wings and back end

Maybe try lower springs and configure the new bodywork around them? 25-30mm may make quite a difference to the overall stance.

There is a company un the US that has a bodykit that converts the MGB to an AC Ace replica. Its called the Caifornia Ace.

Maybe Chris could make a kit that fits the Z3 without modification so it is cheap and easy for novice builders to use.

The more experienced or braver could then make their own modifications such as lowering springs, pie cutting front wings etc?

Poor old Chris!!

All these comments / suggestions, kind of assume Chris is sat on his bum, just waiting for new ideas to come flooding in to give him something to do!

Give him a break for goodness sake!! :-)

I like it ! It has its own shape. Sitting behind that bonnet and wings will be a great frame to look at the road through: .

Thanks for all your comments.

It's strange but it looks so different in the flesh, a bit like the MX250 does.

Any thoughts on Alfa Romeo spider duetto 1965. One with the curvy lights at the back not slab sided back.

A bit of progress. Still a lot of rubbing down and shut lines to improve but the shape is all there now.

And here it is 30mm lower and a small chin spoiler added in Photoshop.

Thanks for pics....
I think i'm gonna have to see this one in the flesh.....
might have to put my Mk1 GTI resto on the back burner for a bit...!
I like the front 'spoilerettes', they help balance the look...
