I too collected my donor in May 2011 for what I thought was going to be a 6 month project. Took me two years, but like you say, who's counting?

Gary - You will have lots of nice touches on your car.

Just remember, very few people have managed a "quick" build.

Good luck, Paul.

A weekend away... couldn't wait to get back to the garage, just for a couple of hours.

Also having some shims made made for the rotoflex, so, maybe this weekend i can get some wheels on. Does anybody know a good place to order 2mm mild steel sheet from?

I found a local light engineering firm and they were happy to sell me (and get me) anything I wanted - sheet, box, flat and angle. I bought all the steel for my frame and it was less than half of what I would have paid to an online seller.

A quick Google might throw up somewhere close to you. They also have very useful offcut bins..........

PS Chassis looking good. I love the colour combination.

Thanks O, i have found one down the road near Canterbury. I did look online and as you say the postage was as much as the sheet i wanted. Any more pics of your build? and that puppy must be big now?

Good to hear there is somewhere near.

Yes, puppy is not a puppy any more. I am getting back into regular time (albeit in two-hour chunks) on the build. Frame is coming along.

I shall add pictures of both in the next week or so.

Gary - You must be happy seeing things bolted to the chassis as it looks great.

Good luck, Paul.

Don't think anyone done a screen yet, other than the factory style aero screen

At first glance I thought that was a cup from a doll's house.

A friend of a neighbor has an English wheel in one of his...stables!

After seeing how big that was and given my lack of space I'd have to have mine in the garden and claim it was a 'sclupture'

Another little task done, i got the main shaft out.

And i just need to take these to a garage and make sure they are pressed in properly, hopefully i measured the shims accurately...

I bought this recently to remake frame after seeing what can be achieved with a bit of thought.
